Welcome to this week's AI Humble Servant!

This week, we talk about my favorite AI company Anthropic.

Claude 3.7 Sonnet is here!

If you weren't aware, Anthropic is my favorite LLM company. Built from the 'old guard' at OpenAI, I have been impressed with Claude 3.5 Sonnet's performance as my main driver. Even this newsletter is written with Claude, and now, the quality should only get better!

Anthropic just dropped their newest model—Claude 3.7 Sonnet—and I'm genuinely excited about what this means. This upgrade gives Claude the ability to either sprint through simple tasks or take its time with complex problems.

What's got me excited is how it handles everything from technical challenges to travel planning with impressive competence, it's a tool meant for practical problems. Not just fancy math and science.

Claude is beating out their competition after what seems to be a wild start to 2025

Pshh. Science

Sam Altman said, if you are creating products with AI, the ones that get better as the model improves, win—and that's exactly what I'm expecting from Claude 3.7!

I can’t say more about how much I find Claude to be a great alternative to OpenAI’s ChatGPT model.

We even heard its learned to catch Pokemon! On Twitch, you can watch Claude attempt to escape a cave of Zubats!

Excerpt for a 7th Grader

Imagine a super smart robot called Claude that can answer your questions and even help you with your homework! Anthropic, the company that made Claude, just gave it a big upgrade. This new version, called Claude 3.7 Sonnet, is like a student who can think super fast or take its time to solve really hard problems, just like you can! It's designed to solve all sorts of problems, not just math and engineering ones, but also things you might be interested in, like planning a trip or figuring out what to cook for dinner. It can even play Pokemon and win!

This is a big deal because Claude is now smarter than other robots like ChatGPT or Grok. What makes Claude special is that you can tell it how long to think before answering. Want a quick answer? Claude can do that. Need it to solve a really tough problem? Give it more time to think it through! It can do even more, like writing computer code with a helper program called Cursor. Programmers who write the code for apps and games are really excited about how good Claude is at helping them! Some people are even saying that Claude is so smart, it feels like real artificial intelligence!

Anthropic CEO - Tips for Building AI Agents

The Rundown

AI experts distinguish between workflows and agents. Workflows follow fixed steps, while agents make their own decisions. Agents excel in coding and search, and need clear feedback loops to succeed.

The Details

  • Agent Definition: AI agents are systems that choose their own steps and actions. This is different from workflows, which follow set paths.

  • Verification Matters: The best agents include feedback loops. Coding agents are effective because code can be tested easily.

  • Current Applications: Search and coding are ideal areas. They are complex but verifiable tasks with low error costs.

  • Future Potential: Multi-agent systems where AIs interact with each other show promise for 2025. Business adoption will likely precede consumer applications.

Why It Matters

Use simple solutions or agents wisely. Don't overcomplicate things. Start small and improve as you grow.

Experts warn that measuring success is critical. Also, agents struggle with consumer tasks due to preference and verification issues. Fix these problems first.

As the author of Prompt Engineering for Beginners, one of the common debates I see on social media is - 'prompt engineering is dead'

Now, as a dedicated profession, I would agree. The knowledge and skills don't quite fit with 'prompt engineering'

LLM/AI Engineering is probably fine!

Why do I tell you this?

Don't waste money on prompt engineering specialists - use this tool instead!

I was facing a major challenge: how to create scalable, high-quality content without burning myself out.

I knew AI was the answer, but which tool?

After exploring options, I discovered Anthropic's Prompt Generator in their console. I tested it by transforming my basic content requests into sophisticated templates with reusable variables.

It's like having an expert prompt engineer built directly into the Anthropic ecosystem!

Now, instead of spending hours crafting perfect prompts, I can describe what I want in natural language and let the generator do the technical work.

Is it perfect? Not always. Some complex tasks require tweaking. But Anthropic's Prompt Generator has transformed my workflow completely.

I'm producing more, stressing less, and focusing on what really matters.

Ready to try it?

Visit Anthropic's console today and look for the "Generate a prompt" button.

ChatGPT and the Bumbling Ban Brigade:

A Guide to Bans

The Rundown

ChatGPT has hit 400 million weekly active users in just over a year. This growth outpaces what took social media platforms a decade to achieve. With users spanning the globe and over 10 million Plus subscribers, ChatGPT processes more than a billion messages weekly. But this rapid expansion brings challenges, as OpenAI balances innovation with safety through strict usage policies.

The Details

  • Explosive Growth: ChatGPT reached 400 million weekly users in months, not years.

  • Global Reach: Users primarily come from the United States, India, and Brazil.

  • Commercial Success: Over 10 million people pay for ChatGPT Plus subscriptions.

  • Safety Systems: OpenAI uses AI monitoring, human reviewers, and user reports to enforce policies.

  • Ban Prevention: Common violations include sharing illegal content, harassment, system manipulation, and privacy violations.

Why It Matters

As AI tools become everyday utilities, understanding their rules grows more important. ChatGPT's meteoric rise represents a shift in how we work and create content. For everyday users, knowing the boundaries helps avoid account restrictions while still leveraging AI's creative potential. The balance between innovation and responsibility will shape how we integrate these powerful tools into our daily lives.
